Methods to enhance the moisture resistance of corrugated base paper include: using high-quality waste paper raw materials (such as US-sourced waste paper); optimizing the surface sizing process (e.g., increasing starch concentration, controlling sheet moisture content prior to the sizing machine-ideally at 7%-regulating starch temperature-ideally at 90°C-adjusting starch viscosity, increasing sizing roll nip pressure, and extending dwell time); properly adjusting the jet-to-wire speed ratio to optimize fiber orientation; controlling the finished paper's moisture content between 7.0% and 9.0%; and incorporating additives such as water-resistant agents or PVA.
