Printed Wax Paper for Food

Printed wax paper for food is an environmentally friendly packaging paper made from renewable biomass fibers such as bamboo pulp, wood pulp, and bagasse pulp, combined with bio-based biodegradable greaseproof coatings. The product differs from traditional PE-coated greaseproof paper and fluorochemical-containing paper. It uses no petroleum-based plastic films and contains no PFOA, PFAS, or other perfluorinated compounds. The finished product can be industrially composted or processed through standard paper recycling systems. This makes the paper a sustainable upgrade for food packaging applications that require grease resistance without the environmental concerns associated with fluorinated materials.

The greaseproof mechanism relies on bio-based polymer-modified coatings such as starch-based materials, chitosan, plant wax, and modified cellulose, which form a dense barrier on the paper surface. Greaseproof levels range from Kit 4 to Kit 12, effectively blocking cooking oil, sauces, butter, and liquids for various food applications including fried foods, baked goods, and oily snacks. Temperature resistance typically ranges from 100°C to 180°C, suitable for baking tray liners, air fryer paper, burger wraps, and baking release applications. The paper surface is smooth and offers good printability, supporting flexo and offset color printing. Stiffness and tear strength meet the requirements for bag-making, carton forming, and wrapping operations. The finished product complies with food contact paper standards and can be used for direct food wrapping.
