Cold-Chain Application Focus
Paperboard food packaging is specifically designed for fresh and chilled food applications in the cold-chain segment. This product uses virgin wood pulp paper as the base substrate, with one or both sides coated with food-grade water-resistant, oil-resistant, and barrier coatings. The paper effectively blocks blood, meat juices, seafood liquids, and animal fats from penetrating through the paper, preventing external packaging from staining. The coating remains stable and intact under both refrigerated and frozen conditions, without cracking or peeling. Three variants are available: standard water-and-oil resistant grade for general chilled use, freezer-grade for deep-cold environments down to -18°C, and antimicrobial-coated grade that helps inhibit surface microbial growth to extend shelf life.
Weight Range & Cold-Chain Performance
The weight range covers 35 to 100 grams. Lighter grades of 35–50 gsm are used for tray liners and internal separators in fresh meat and seafood packaging. Grades of 50–70 gsm are suitable for direct wrapping of fresh cuts in retail settings, where the paper wraps around meat or poultry portions. Heavier grades of 70–100 gsm are used for fresh paper bags and cold-chain carton liners. The freezer-grade version maintains coating integrity at -18°C without becoming brittle, making it suitable for long-term frozen storage of meat and seafood. The paper retains good wet strength, resisting puncture from bones and sharp edges even when wet. Antimicrobial grades suppress surface bacteria growth, which can help extend the shelf life of chilled meat and sashimi products.
Production & Supply
Zhejiang Xinzhongxin Paper Industry Shares Co., Ltd., established in April 2011, has over a decade of experience in functional coating for food packaging applications. The company operates two production bases in Jiaxing and Wenzhou with approximately 8,000 square meters of facility space. A raw paper inventory of about 15,000 tons is maintained at all times, including yellow bull card, coated bull card, newsprint, and kraft paper. The plant is equipped with two imported high-speed slitting machines and six rewinding machines, with a maximum processing width of approximately 2,400 mm. Monthly production capacity is about 2,000 tons, and annual capacity reaches 20,000 tons. The facility can flexibly slit different widths and roll diameters based on order requirements.
Customization & Ordering
OEM and ODM services are supported. The company provides selection advice based on storage temperature (chilled or frozen), oil-resistance level, antimicrobial needs, and processing method. The standard minimum order quantity is one container (about 25 tons). Paper samples can be provided before mass production for customer testing and evaluation. Lead time for standard products is 1–2 months; custom orders take 2–3 months. Payment terms are 30% deposit with 70% balance for standard orders, and 50% deposit with 50% balance for custom orders. Packaging uses kraft paper with round corner protection for export. A 6-month warranty and after-sales follow-up are provided.
