Product Overview
Art coated paper is a coated printing paper with a relatively thick mineral coating layer applied to the base paper surface, followed by supercalendering. The paper surface offers very high smoothness and gloss. The paper has high brightness, good color reproduction, and fine dot reproduction, making it one of the best paper grades for color printing. It is suitable for photo-quality images and fine graphics. The product is available in double-side coated paper, single-side coated paper, and matte coated paper. The weight range covers 105 to 300 grams. The product is compatible with offset lithography and web printing, widely used for high-quality brochures, promotional materials, product packaging, tags and cards, and book covers in high-quality printing applications.
Print Performance
Art paper is one of the most finely surface-treated paper grades among printing papers. The relatively thick mineral coating layer, after calendering, forms a dense, smooth printing surface. Ink sets on the surface with very high color saturation, delivering rich, fine, and realistic images. In advertising and promotional materials, grades of 128–157 gsm are used for flyers, DM sheets, and brochures. Grades of 157–200 gsm are used for supermarket and event posters. Grades of 157 gsm are used for brochure inner pages, while grades of 200–250 gsm are used for covers, delivering excellent results for product photography. In books and creative products, it is used for book covers, color illustrations, children's picture books, photography collections, calendars and wall calendars, postcards, greeting cards, and invitations. Matte coated paper has lower reflectivity, suitable for brochures and art books with reduced eye strain during extended reading. In packaging and labels, grades of 200–250 gsm double-side coated paper are used for cosmetic boxes, gift boxes, product packaging boxes, and carry bags. Double-side coated is selected when both sides require printing. Single-side coated paper has only one coated side for printing, with the reverse side suitable for mounting and lamination, used for self-adhesive labels, product tags, and hang tags. Grades of 250–300 gsm heavy coated paper are used for business cards, commemorative cards, and visitor passes, typically laminated for durability.

Selection Guide
The core differences between art paper, woodfree paper, and light printing paper lie in coating thickness and print performance. Art coated paper has the thickest coating and the most vibrant color reproduction, but is not suitable for fountain pen writing.
