Product Overview
Woodfree offset printing paper, formerly known as Dowling paper, is an uncoated cultural printing paper. The paper is made primarily from bleached chemical wood pulp, with both sides surface-sized. The paper has no mineral coating layer. This uncoated structure gives the paper its core characteristics: writability, printability, and copyability. Fountain pens and gel pens write smoothly with rapid ink absorption and no bleeding-this is the fundamental difference between woodfree offset paper and coated paper or light-weight coated paper. The product is available in high-brightness white, cream/ivory eye-protection, and colored grades. The weight range covers 60 to 140 grams, with heavier grades from 150 to 250 grams available. The paper is compatible with offset lithography, web printing, digital printing, and copying, making it the most mainstream cultural paper for books and office applications.
Application Segments
In textbooks, educational materials, and publishing, cream/ivory woodfree paper reduces visual fatigue and is widely used for primary and secondary school textbooks, supplementary materials, and exercise book inner pages. High-brightness white grades are used for novels, social science books, literary books, and comic magazine inner pages for text-heavy applications with limited images. Grades of 60–80 gsm are used for thin books and periodicals; grades of 80–100 gsm are used for thicker books. In office and document applications, woodfree paper serves as printing and copy paper, corporate letterhead, official documents, forms and receipts, and file and archive inner pages, suitable for long-term archival storage. In corporate promotional and print materials, it is used for product manuals, operation manuals, internal publications, flyers, brochures, conference materials, and exhibition catalogs. In stationery and notebooks, it is used for notebooks, journals, and exercise book inner pages, envelopes, letter paper, and covers, as well as certificates and simple greeting cards. In map applications, ordinary maps, road maps, and tourist guide maps use woodfree paper for dimensional stability and fold resistance. In craft applications, colored woodfree paper is used for origami, DIY crafts, and simple tags and labels.

Selection Guide
The selection criteria between woodfree paper, coated paper, and lightweight coated paper are based on application needs. Handwriting or filling in forms requires woodfree paper. Image-heavy applications with vibrant, glossy results require coated paper. Text-heavy applications are best served by woodfree paper. Long-term archival documents should use woodfree paper rather than lightweight coated paper.
